About us
“American Hospital Tbilisi” is a JCI-accredited multi-profile medical institution located in the city center, which was opened in 2021 with the support of the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC, formerly OPIC) and taking into account the joint interests arising with the state of Georgia. There is an agreement between the states of the US and Georgia, where the interested parties are the US International Development Finance Corporation, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, and, of course, a number of educational institutions and institutions of these countries with medical, scientific research interests.
Based on agreements reached in 2011-2015, the Georgian state directly sold the state-owned real estate located at 58 D. Uznadze / 17 U. Chkheidze in the center of Tbilisi (former medical institutions), thereby expressing its will and interest in launching a new, international-standard hospital on the site of the old clinics. One of the conditions for the consent was an investment of 18 million dollars by the Georgian state. In reality, the total cost of the “American Hospital Tbilisi” and, accordingly, the direct investment made in Georgia exceeded 50 million US dollars.

Built on 25,000 m2, “American Hospital Tbilisi” operates with services based on international standards.
