At American Hospital in Tbilisi, the direction of interventional radiology is headed by radiologist Dr. Davit Shengelia. He says that while studying at the medical university, he became interested in this direction of medicine for only one reason – nationwide, interventional medicine is not represented strongly and at full capacity. Interventional radiology involves carrying out different types of manipulations for diagnostic and treatment purposes, by means of computerized tomography, ultrasound or X-ray control and minimally invasive.
