#AHT: “Talks about Oncology” – International Cancer Day at AHT

On February 4, “World Cancer Day”, AHT oncologists and onco-surgeons responded by raising public awareness. On this day, in the conference hall of AHT, the oncologist of the hospital – Dr. Natia Jokhadze, and various specialists focused on issues that are not often talked about. The conference – “Talks about oncology” was opened by AHT oncologist Dr. Natia Jokhadze and in her presentation emphasized the science of oncology – from the beginning to the present day. After that, the director of quality and accreditation of the hospital –  Natalia Kalandarishvili spoke about the oncology services in AHT and their availability, and Dr. Nino Metreveli gave us a look “behind the scenes of the chemotherapy department”.

Oral hygiene is very important during chemotherapy and Dr. Tamta Dgebuadze spoke about this issue within the framework of the conference. How to deal with depression and psychosexual problems during chemotherapy – Nina Gogokhia introduced us to this topic, and Dr. Ekaterine Sanikidze focused on oncological rehabilitation. The conference organizers and speakers aimed to inform the present audience, which was carried out within the framework of corporate and social responsibility.
